Carpark North

Carpark North bring their synth-driven alternative rock to Borgerforeningen Svendborg Teater in Svendborg, Denmark, on 27 November 2026. Formed in Aarhus in 1999 by Lau Højen, Søren Balsner and Morten Thorhauge, the trio later moved to Copenhagen and carved out a sound where dense keyboards lock with melodic guitars and a tight, direct rhythm section. The vocals are mostly in English, with lyrics circling doubt, faith and the push and pull of human relationships.

Across albums like the self-titled debut (2003), All Things to All People (2005), Grateful (2008), Lost (2010) and Phoenix (2014) — which includes the single 32 with Stine Bramsen — the band has refined a balance between pop structures and electronic textures. On stage, the power-trio setup leaves space for each element: bass and synths carrying the pulse, guitar lines cutting through, drums keeping it lean and focused. The set in Svendborg draws from their different eras, from early synth-rock bursts to later, sleeker cuts, keeping the keyboards at the core without losing the guitar drive.
