Poul Krebs

Born in 1956 in Aarhus, Denmark, Poul Krebs belongs to the tradition of Danish singer-songwriters who blend pop, rock and folk. Active since the early 1980s, he gradually established a Danish-language songwriting style focused on everyday details, relationships and familiar landscapes, delivered with a warm voice and straightforward melodies. A turning point came in the early 1990s with the album Små sensationer (1994), which firmly established him on the national scene. His records alternate between introspective ballads and more electric tracks within a melodic pop‑rock register tinged with Americana influences, often arranged around guitars, keyboards and, depending on the project, brass or string sections. Over time he has released studio albums, live recordings and compilations while maintaining a steady concert schedule in Danish venues and festivals. Regular collaborations — notably the Krebs/Falch project with rocker Michael Falch — have extended this collective touring approach and reinforced Poul Krebs’ place in the contemporary Danish music landscape.
