Breaking Benjamin will play AFAS Live, Amsterdam on 8 July 2026. The band around singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley formed in the late 1990s in Wilkes-Barre (Pennsylvania) and moves between alternative rock, post-grunge and melodic metal. Heavy, layered guitars, contrasting vocal lines and introspective themes form the foundation; Burnley’s voice remains the focal point, even after changes in the lineup.
Since their debut album Saturate (2002), Breaking Benjamin refined their sound on We Are Not Alone (2004) and Phobia (2006), with tighter song structures and hooks that stick. Dear Agony (2009) consolidated that approach, and after a hiatus the group returned with Dark Before Dawn (2015) and Ember (2018). Live, the set shifts from atmospheric ballads to harder-edged tracks, featuring tight riffs and memorable melodies. Expect a selection from across their catalogue, in a sound that makes room for both tension and release.
