The Sophs

The Sophs, a Los Angeles sextet recently signed to Rough Trade, return to Europe. After an initial EU/UK tour and a sold-out Paris appearance, the band has announced a new date in Paris. The Sophs will perform on 4 May 2026 at La Maroquinerie, Paris.

With only three singles released, including 'I'M YOUR FIEND,' the band has established the foundations of a bold, propulsive sound. Direct songwriting, melodic tension, and a willingness to occupy several musical terrains without hierarchy: a pop-punk surge that slips into a lean funk, sudden accelerations, and a spoken-sung delivery that resets the balance. Their influences collide without nostalgia, all in service of songs forged for the stage.

Geoff Travis and Jeannette Lee of Rough Trade say they spotted the band for their way of upending conventions. Ramon, the singer, sums up the intent: "I want to steal, plagiarize, borrow." The Sophs move forward by instinct, seeking the crack rather than striking a pose, and will bring this volatile mix to La Maroquinerie in the spring.
