Camilo
Born in Medellín in 1994, Camilo Echeverry, known professionally as Camilo, first attracted attention in Colombia after winning the TV show Factor XS in 2007. Following a debut album with adolescent pop-rock leanings, Tráfico de Sentimientos (2010), he gradually shifted toward a Latin pop and urban sound characterized by reggaeton-adjacent rhythms, acoustic arrangements and intimate songwriting. Embedded in the Spanish-language música urbana scene throughout the 2010s, he also worked as a songwriter for other Latin American artists, which helped shape his own style: straightforward pop melodies, tropical touches and elements drawn from Andean music. The releases of Por Primera Vez (2020) and Mis Manos (2021) confirmed this direction, alternating pop ballads, mid-tempo tracks and more danceable numbers. In 2022, De Adentro Pa Afuera extended this aesthetic, bridging romantic pop, mellow reggaeton and folk influences. Camilo has also built a strong rapport with his audience — known as “La Tribu” — and positioned his career within the networks of Latin pop and urban scenes across Latin America, Europe and North America.
