Manuel Turizo

Born in 2000 in Montería, Colombia, Manuel Turizo emerged in the mid-2010s amid the wave of reggaeton and Latin urban pop. The 2016 single “Una Lady Como Tú” drew attention to him, and he subsequently honed a style that blends melodic reggaeton, pop latino and romantic ballads, anchored by a deep voice and generally mid-tempo rhythms. Established on the urbano scene, Turizo went on to collaborate with artists such as Piso 21 and Ozuna and became integrated into the Latin music networks spanning Colombia, Mexico, the Caribbean and the United States. His debut album “ADN” (2019) laid the groundwork for a sound in which reggaeton rhythms remain central but are open to pop and R&B; “Dopamina” (2021) further explored intersections between tropical sonorities and sentimental songwriting. With “2000” (2023) he fully incorporated bachata and brighter pop textures — notably on the track “La Bachata” — while staying rooted in an urbano aesthetic accessible to both radio and festival stages. This trajectory places Manuel Turizo at the heart of a generation of Colombian artists who weave together reggaeton, pop songwriting and Caribbean fusions.
