Slomosa
In Bergen, Slomosa took shape around jams that started in 2016 and solidified in 2017, with the idea of making a Palm Desert–influenced desert rock sound at home in a Norwegian setting — a concept the band sometimes sums up as “tundra rock.” The quartet led by Benjamin Berdous, with Tor Erik Bye, Marie Moe and Jard Hole, plays dense, melodic stoner rock driven by heavy riffs, a supple groove and choruses that remain clear without tipping into expansive psychedelia. After several singles, Slomosa released a self-titled debut album in 2020 on Apollon Records, underwent lineup changes between 2019 and 2020, and then stepped up their live activity. From 2021 on they toured regularly across Western Europe, played festivals such as Hellfest and Desertfest, and shared bills with Stöner, Orange Goblin, King Buffalo and Elder. In 2024 Slomosa released their second album, Tundra Rock, on Stickman Records in Europe and MNRK Heavy in the United States, continuing a tighter songwriting approach where the impact of stoner, the efficiency of rock and a drier Nordic hue clearly coexist.
