Deathchant

Formed in Los Angeles, Deathchant operates within a heavy rock scene nourished by classic hard rock, NWOBHM, doom, sludge and psychedelia, with twin guitars and massive riffs playing a central role. The quartet develops a sound where melodic harmonies inherited from 1970s rock intersect with heavier tempos and abrasive passages, without sacrificing a very direct energy. Deathchant emerged in the late 2010s on the Californian heavy scene and released a debut album, Deathchant, in 2021 on RidingEasy Records, followed by Waste in 2023. Their journey sits in a circuit close to stoner, doom and underground hard rock, with dates shared notably with Electric Wizard, High On Fire, Graveyard, Elder, Pentagram, Monolord, Midnight, Weedeater, or Amyl and the Sniffers. Deathchant has thus built a trajectory linked to scenes where psychedelic rock, slow metal and proto-metal heritage cross, while maintaining a compact and rugged writing centered on the impact of the guitars.
