1000mods

Founded in 2006 in Chiliomodi, near Corinth in Greece, 1000mods perform as a four-piece in a heavy rock register that intersects stoner rock, psychedelic rock and desert rock. 1000mods develop a dense, direct sound built on thick riffs, tempos that alternate between full-on thrust and controlled heaviness, and melodic vocals with a rough edge, clearly linked to 1970s hard rock forms and to the rawer energy of underground rock. After beginnings on the Greek scene, 1000mods gradually expanded their reach across European club and festival circuits, where the band sits within a scene shared with heavy psych and a doom rock not heavily saturated with effects. The band's discography includes Super Van Vacation (2011), Vultures (2014) and Youth of Dissent (2020), three records that show increasingly tightened songwriting while retaining a taste for repetitive grooves, gradual build-ups and restrained choruses. Over the course of tours, 1000mods consolidated an identity centered on collective impact, between rhythmic tension, raspy melodies and forceful playing.
