Disembodied Tyrant

American deathcore project formed in 2020 in Missouri. Disembodied Tyrant was launched by vocalist Donovan Parchment and producer Wilhelm Vickers before centring around Blake Mullens, who joined at the end of 2021 as vocalist, guitarist and principal composer. The band first released the single “Limbo”, then the EP Eclipse, Pt. 1 in 2021, where aggressive deathcore meets a pronounced symphonic dimension. They followed in 2022 with The Divine Stigmata and refined their symphonic deathcore approach in 2024 on The Poetic Edda, a collaborative EP with Synestia whose track “Winter” reinterprets the fourth concerto from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, and on The Tower: Part One the same year. Around Blake Mullens the lineup stabilised with Dominic Petrocelli on lead guitar, Lucas Koughan on bass and Kevin Alexander on drums, developing a live sound based on contrasts between orchestral arrangements, heavy breakdowns and extreme vocals. In 2025 the signing to Nuclear Blast and the single “8.6 Blackout”, accompanied by a tour announced with several international deathcore acts, marked the next phase of their development, while guest vocalists handled concerts after an accident that seriously injured Mullens.
