Ignite
Formed in 1993 in Orange County, California, Ignite belongs to the West Coast melodic hardcore tradition, with a sound that blends fast punk rhythms, sung choruses and hardcore tension. Initially driven by founding member Brett Rasmussen, Ignite released Scarred for Life in 1994 and Family in 1995, building its reputation on the American, Japanese and European hardcore scenes through extensive touring. The band reached a new scale with A Place Called Home in 2000, an album that firmly established its balance between upfront energy, prominent melodic lines and lyrics focused on social, political and environmental issues. Long fronted by vocalist Zoltán Téglás, Ignite continued with Our Darkest Days (2006) and A War Against You (2016), maintaining melodic hardcore while incorporating broader punk rock influences. After Téglás’ departure, Eli Santana joined as vocalist, first appearing on the 2021 EP featuring "Anti-Complicity Anthem" and "Turn XXI," and later on the self-titled Ignite album released in 2022. Now organized as a quartet—Rasmussen, Craig Anderson, Nik Hill and Eli Santana—Ignite continues to alternate North American and European tours.
