No Fun At All

Formed in the early 1990s in Skinnskatteberg, Sweden, melodic punk band No Fun At All emerged as part of the Scandinavian skate punk wave centered around Burning Heart Records. Founded in 1991, the band developed a fast, melodic style marked by tight riffs, clear vocal lines and song structures close to Californian melodic hardcore, while retaining a European sensibility in lyrics and harmonies. No Fun At All drew attention with the EP “Vision” in 1993, then followed with the albums “No Straight Angles” (1994) and “Out of Bounds” (1995), which established them on punk stages across Europe and North America. With “The Big Knockover” (1997) and “State of Flow” (2000) the band refined a denser sound, maintaining brisk tempos but adding more melodic variation. After an initial split in the early 2000s, No Fun At All reformed and released “Low Rider” in 2008, resuming regular touring, notably on the punk festival circuit. The group returned to the studio with “Grit” in 2018, followed by “Seventh Wave” in 2022, continuing a trajectory that links the skate punk legacy of the 1990s with contemporary melodic songwriting.
