A Wilhelm Scream
Emerging from the punk scene in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the group that would become A Wilhelm Scream took shape in the late 1990s after several name changes and is rooted in a local tradition of melodic punk with a strong DIY ethos. A Wilhelm Scream developed a blend of punk rock, melodic hardcore and skate punk, characterized by fast, technical guitars, taut melodic vocals and song structures with numerous tempo changes. The band gained attention in the early 2000s with the album Mute Print (2004), followed by Ruiner (2005) and Career Suicide (2007), which established A Wilhelm Scream on international club and festival circuits. After a period of relative discographic quiet, A Wilhelm Scream returned with Partycrasher (2013) and later Lose Your Delusion (2022), continuing to focus their songwriting on live energy and rhythmic precision. Around a core that notably includes singer Nuno Pereira and guitarist Trevor Reilly, the lineup has seen several variations while retaining a recognizable sonic identity and a steady presence on North American and European stages.
