Alex Cameron

Based in Sydney, Australia, Alex Cameron is a solo project that blends electronic pop and soft rock with highly narrative songwriting. Initially active as part of the electronic band Seekae, Cameron shifted in the early 2010s toward a body of songs driven by restrained synthesizers, slow-to-mid tempos and a prominently deep vocal delivery. His debut album, "Jumping the Shark", was released in 2013 and reissued in 2016, establishing a signature style featuring fictional characters and first-person narratives inspired by night-life figures, precarious workers and washed-up artists. With "Forced Witness" (2017) and "Miami Memory" (2019) he moved toward a broader pop-rock sound while retaining a taste for melodic choruses and detailed lyrics, and he has occasionally collaborated as a songwriter with artists such as Angel Olsen and the American band The Killers. On stage he is often accompanied by saxophonist Roy Molloy and regularly tours Europe, North America and Australia. Since 2022 he has been promoting his fourth album, "Oxy Music", which features softer tones and a synth-pop coloration.
