Caroline Rose

Born on Long Island and raised in Center Moriches, New York, Caroline Rose initially wrote music rooted in American folk, country and rockabilly before steering her project more clearly toward indie pop and indie rock. She launched her discography with America Religious in 2012, then released I Will Not Be Afraid in 2014 — both records made with producer and multi‑instrumentalist Jer Coons — featuring guitars, Americana melodies and fairly direct song formats. After a hiatus and several changes in her musical circle, she reoriented her work with Loner in 2018, co‑produced with Paul Butler, adopting a more pop‑rock aesthetic, synthetic arrangements and a more ironic tone. This shift continued with Superstar in 2020, conceived as a record of narrative pop, and with The Art of Forgetting in 2023, which is more introspective and broader in its textures. In 2025 she released year of the slug, which carries on this trajectory by blending pop formats, a producer’s approach and a taste for tonal displacements. Based in Austin, Caroline Rose moves between indie scenes, personal songwriting and production largely driven by herself.
