Alpha Wolf

Formed in 2013 in Burnside, Victoria, Australia, Alpha Wolf emerged on the local metalcore scene with a songwriting approach that blends hardcore, nu metal and alternative metal — marked by choppy rhythms, heavy riffs and shouted vocals delivered in a very dry style. After the EP Origin (2014), Alpha Wolf laid the foundations of its identity on Mono (2017), before a significant reconfiguration when singer Aiden Holmes left and Lochie Keogh joined in 2018. This new phase settled on A Quiet Place to Die (2020), where Alpha Wolf further hardened their approach by playing on contrasts between tension, groove and more upfront passages. The band subsequently toured widely across metal and hardcore stages in Australia, Europe and North America, while forging ties with a generation of modern heavy acts. In 2022 Alpha Wolf shared the EP The Lost & The Longing with Welsh band Holding Absence, which occasionally broadened their palette toward more melodic sequences. Half Living Things, released in 2024, continues this trajectory with a dense, nervous sound still focused on rhythmic impact and a dark aesthetic.
