Aviana
Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2016, Aviana occupy a vein of modern metalcore with a strong djent component, characterized by very staccato guitars, massive rhythms and deathcore incursions that harden the overall sound. The project began with singer Marcus Vik, who appears on the debut album Polarize (2017), before Joel Holmqvist joined later that year — a change that coincided with an evolution toward a darker, tenser and more abrasive sonic approach. After releasing Epicenter in 2019, Aviana underwent a major reconfiguration in 2020; Holmqvist continued as the band’s central figure and surrounded himself with masked live musicians. This phase produced the EP Overcome in 2021 and a sequence of releases collected on Corporation in 2022, where Aviana further honed their blend of syncopated metalcore, heavy atmospheres and more melodic choruses. The Swedish band has continued to issue new material and released Void in 2025. On stage, Aviana has circulated through modern metalcore and post‑metal circuits in Europe, Australia and North America, notably alongside Imminence, Allt and Make Them Suffer, in a configuration that places as much emphasis on visual impact as on sonic density.
