Teddy Swims

From the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, American singer‑songwriter Teddy Swims—born Jaten Dimsdale in 1992 in Conyers—works at the intersection of soul, R&B and pop, with touches of gospel, rock and country. He first gained attention in 2019 through a series of online covers in which he reinterpreted soul standards, contemporary pop songs and country tunes in a warm, melismatic vocal style, before gradually developing original material. Signed to Warner Records, he released the EP Unlearning in 2021, which established a songwriting approach centered on soul‑pop ballads and modern R&B productions; he followed this with Tough Love and Sleep Is Exhausting in 2022, deepening a musical world where themes of relationships, vulnerability and personal rebuilding are central. With his first full‑length album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1), released in 2023, Teddy Swims consolidated this work into songs ranging from piano‑and‑voice ballads to tracks closer to pop rock, notably carried by the single Lose Control. On stage he translates this intimate songwriting into a band format that emphasizes the voice, soul groove and direct interaction with the audience, performing in clubs, concert venues and festivals across North America, Europe and Oceania.
