Adele

Born in London in 1988, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins emerged in the late 2000s with songwriting focused on relationships, a mezzo-soprano voice and a repertoire that blends pop, soul and rhythm and blues. Trained at the BRIT School in Croydon, Adele was discovered after uploading early demos and signed with XL Recordings in 2006. Her debut album, 19 (2008), established a restrained style marked by ballads, piano and soul inflections. With 21 (2011) she broadened her palette by incorporating country, roots and gospel references while retaining a direct, melodic writing style. In 2012 Adele recorded "Skyfall" for the film of the same name. She continued on this path with 25 (2015) and 30 (2021), two records built around orchestral pop arrangements, breakup songs and a vocal delivery that prioritizes textual clarity. Over her career Adele has moved from London’s acoustic stages and BBC studios to major international venues, stadiums and a Las Vegas residency, without changing the core of her work: vocal-centered pop rooted in soul, shaped by classic song formats and an upfront style of interpretation.
