Gatlin

Based in Los Angeles after growing up in Florida, Gatlin develops an independent pop-writing nourished by folk, indie rock and discreet synthetic textures, with a marked attention to intimate storytelling. Her path takes shape in adolescence, a period when she begins to write and publish her songs, before passing through Nashville and anchoring herself on the American scene while also leading writing sessions in London. The Gatlin project centers around tracks that revisit a conservative Christian upbringing in the southern United States, her relationship to faith, and her experience as a young queer woman. This autobiographical material forms the basis of her debut album The Eldest Daughter, released in 2024, where Gatlin articulates songs focused on memory, the rupture with a family and religious framework, and the construction of a chosen identity. Her music thus alternates between piano ballads, guitar pop and more rock-leaning outbursts, without forsaking a form of sobriety in performance. Among the collaborations tied to this album are Chloe Kraemer, Amanda Cy, Jennifer Decilveo, Liza Owen and Tessa Mouzourakis, in a body of work that extends Gatlin's evolution toward a more personal and more frontal pop in her themes.
