Mathame

Mathame, an Italian electronic project led by brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli, took shape in the second half of the 2010s and quickly established itself within the European melodic techno scene. The duo crafts music that blends a techno pulse, house-style progressions, atmospheric pads and a strong sense of contrast, with many tracks conceived as slow builds threaded by expansive melodic motifs and a clearly readable club tension. Mathame’s rise was propelled in part by releases circulated in the orbit of Afterlife, an important platform for their visibility, before they reached wider circulation across electronic music clubs and festivals. Without confining themselves to a single register, Mathame’s aesthetic moves between melodic techno, ambient and a more cinematic approach to production, while retaining a duo dynamic focused on composition and DJ sets.
