Australian producer, DJ and sound engineer based in Los Angeles, Cassian develops electronic music at the intersection of melodic house, melodic techno and expansive-textured progressive house, built around precise rhythms, slow progressions and a pronounced sense of atmosphere. First noticed on the Australian scene, Cassian has run a parallel solo career and studio practice, mixing or co-producing projects for other names in electronic and pop music, notably RÜFÜS DU SOL, as well as Hayden James, What So Not and Crooked Colours. Under his own name he releases singles, remixes and EPs on labels such as Rose Avenue, Afterlife and Odd One Out, in a club-oriented register while retaining melodic and narrative dimensions. This dual activity—DJ sets on international stages and behind-the-scenes production work—structures Cassian’s trajectory; his name is also associated with recognition at the Grammy Awards through his collaboration with RÜFÜS DU SOL.
