The Warning

From Monterrey in northern Mexico, sisters Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra Villarreal founded The Warning in the early 2010s. Together they developed an energetic rock sound defined by massive guitar riffs, highly rhythmic drumming and compact bass lines, underpinned by often-melodic vocal harmonies. The band first drew attention with online cover videos before self-releasing the EP Escape the Mind in 2015 and their debut album XXI Century Blood in 2017, where the trio established a sound between hard rock, alternative metal and melodic rock. In 2018 they released the concept record Queen of the Murder Scene, which emphasized longer song structures and darker atmospheres, while the album Error, released in 2022 after signing with Lava Records, highlighted more alternative rock and pop-rock elements with greater focus on choruses and vocal textures. Active across North America, Europe and Latin America, The Warning plays clubs, festivals and support slots for established rock acts, offering a repertoire mainly in English and sometimes in Spanish that addresses themes of identity, social tensions and personal relationships.
