Pariah

Behind Pariah is Arthur Cayzer, a British producer and DJ based in London who emerged in the late 2000s in the wake of the UK bass and techno scenes. Under the name Pariah he released several EPs on the Belgian label R&S — including Detroit Falls, Safehouses and Rift — which establish a sound that is both taut and atmospheric, between club pulse, dub textures, discreet melodic lines and the heritage of Detroit techno. His trajectory later expanded into denser, more abrasive writing with Karenn, a duo formed in 2011 with Jamie Roberts, aka Blawan, a project focused on direct, kinetic and physical techno. Pariah also appears on Sheworks through a collaboration with Midland, while building a steady DJ presence across club and festival circuits. Between bass music, techno, minimal house and more ambient passages, Pariah has constructed a modest but coherent discography founded on short formats and a precise approach to rhythmic tension.
