Kessler
Based in Rotterdam after growing up in Belfast, Kessler, also known as Eddy Kennedy, creates electronic music centered on broken rhythms at the crossroads of breakbeat, bass music, jungle, garage, electro and certain strands of techno. His trajectory was initially shaped between Ireland and the United Kingdom, with a strong focus on amen breaks, the syncopations of broken beat and rhythmic constructions that are less linear than straightforward. Kessler has circulated this aesthetic through releases on Shall Not Fade, Holding Hands, Club Glow and Hospital Records, with tracks such as "Ambivalent" and "Foul Play", while developing a DJ presence on club and festival stages across Europe. In his sets, Kessler pieces together tracks where percussion and bass play a central role, showing a clear taste for intersections of jungle energy, electro tension and garage elasticity. This approach led to appearances on Rinse FM, NTS and BBC Radio 1, followed by a residency on Rinse FM. Kessler also runs his own programming projects via Footwork and Meraki, two imprints that extend his interest in hybrid forms of club music.
