Niska

Niska, the stage name of Stanislas Dinga Pinto, was born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges and raised in Évry, in the Essonne department — an environment that has left a lasting mark on his writing and his roots in French rap. First noticed as a member of the group Negro Deep and later through a series of freestyles released in the mid-2010s, Niska made his name with an approach that mixes trap, street rap, chant-like hooks and Afro influences, in an energetic style built on dry rhythms, short phrases and a choppy delivery. His debut album, Zifukoro, was released in 2016, followed by Commando in 2017, Mr Sal in 2019 and Le monde est méchant in 2021. Across these records Niska broadened his palette by alternating raw tracks, more melodic pieces and collaborations with several artists from the francophone scene, while remaining tied to the Évry rap aesthetic and, more broadly, to the exchanges between French trap, African sonorities and club formats. Present both in mainstream rap circuits and in a scene more directly rooted in freestyle and street rap, Niska has built a career focused on rhythmic impact, a knack for memorable lines and an immediately recognisable vocal identity.
