Koba LaD

Hailing from Évry in Essonne, rapper Koba LaD emerged in the late 2010s with a series of freestyles titled "Ténébreux," shared on social media and YouTube. A member of the Seven Binks collective, he stood out with a style rooted in Parisian street rap, blending dark trap, autotuned melodies, and repetitive ad-libs, driven by a choppy delivery and punchy hooks. Spotted by Def Jam France, he released the "Ténébreux" mixtape, then followed up in 2018 with his debut studio album, "VII," which established his world around stories of neighborhood life and nocturnal atmospheres. The following year, "L’Affranchi" (2019) broadened the palette with more melodic tracks, while "Détail" (2020) intensified the influence of trap and drill in his music. Frequently invited for features—particularly alongside rappers like Niska or Maes—and active on collective projects tied to Seven Binks in the early 2020s, Koba LaD has cemented his place in the contemporary French rap scene by steadily releasing music and performing across France and the Francophone world.
