Above & Beyond

Formed in London around the turn of the 2000s, Above & Beyond brings together producers Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki around a vision centered on melodic trance and progressive house. The trio first gained attention through remixes and work under various aliases before asserting the Above & Beyond identity with the album “Tri-State” in 2006, followed by “Group Therapy” in 2011 and “We Are All We Need” in 2015, where vocals and song structures take on a clearer role. With “Common Ground” in 2018 and the more ambient project “Flow State” in 2019, Above & Beyond explored a more introspective side, between atmospheric electronic music and pieces designed for extended listening. Alongside these studio records, the group developed an acoustic strand documented on “Acoustic” (2014) and “Acoustic II” (2016), and continued their vocal work through the OceanLab project with Justine Suissa. As cofounders of the Anjunabeats label, and by extension the Anjunadeep sublabel, Above & Beyond have supported the emergence of an international trance and progressive scene while maintaining a regular radio show and touring on electronic stages worldwide.
