Matt Fax

Under the name Matt Fax, David Ciekanski has been developing from France an early career in electronic music, begun in his teens with initial projects published before adopting this alias in 2012. His work sits at the crossroads of progressive house, trance, melodic house and at times a supple techno, with tracks built on clear synth lines, progressive builds and a club writing often tempered by a more atmospheric dimension. Matt Fax first emerges through a series of EPs on labels such as Silk Music, Balkan Connection and especially Colorize, where notably Late Night / Broadway appears in 2013, then several releases that establish his name on the progressive and trance scenes. Over the years he also multiplies remixes for artists and labels linked to Anjunabeats, Armada Music, Enhanced or Garuda, and collaborates among others with Jaytech, BT, Dezza, Estiva or Richard Bedford. His discography includes the albums Contrast in 2017 and Progressions in 2020, two milestones showing an expansion of his palette between more vocal formats, darker textures and an approach still centered on the energy of the track. Matt Fax has also played in circuits related to radio and trance and progressive scenes, with notable appearances around Anjunabeats, A State of Trance and Ministry of Sound.
