Aly & Fila

Formed in Cairo in 1999 by Aly Amr Fathalla and Fadi Wassef Naguib, Aly & Fila are known for melodic, uplifting trance built on driving tempos, bright synth lines and progressive buildups often featuring guest vocals. The project gained international recognition with “Eye of Horus” in 2003 and established itself on European and global trance circuits with releases such as “Spirit of Ka” and “Ankh”, as well as regular appearances on stages like A State of Trance, Nature One, Street Parade and Tomorrowland. In 2006 they launched the radio show Future Sound of Egypt, which evolved into an event series, and in 2009 they founded the FSOE Recordings label, focused on direct, emotional, club-oriented trance. Their album discography includes Rising Sun (2010), Quiet Storm (2013), The Other Shore (2014), The Chill Out (2015) and Beyond the Lights (2017). Aly & Fila have also produced collaborations and remixes with several scene figures, including Paul van Dyk. Following the hearing problems Aly experienced in 2008, live appearances have been primarily handled by Fila, while Aly & Fila continue to exist as a production and publishing project.
