Kasper Bjørke

Based in Copenhagen, Kasper Bjørke has since the late 1990s developed a path between production, composition, and DJing at the crossroads of house, disco, techno, and a synth‑pop with New Wave contours. He first appears within the Danish duo Filur with Tomas Barfod, a formation launched in 1999 and active on several albums, including Exciting Comfort (2000), Deeply Suburban? No, Deeply Superficial (2002), Into the Wasteland (2006) and Faces (2011), before steering his work more clearly toward solo projects. Under his name, Kasper Bjørke released In Gumbo in 2007, then Standing on Top of Utopia in 2010, Fool in 2012, After Forever in 2014, and Fountain of Youth in 2016. His music blends club pulsation, melancholic melodies, disco basslines, darker electronic textures and Krautrock influences, with a strong preference for formats that move from vocal tracks to more nocturnal instrumental constructions. Kasper Bjørke has also produced numerous remixes and parallel projects, notably Kasper Bjørke & His Friendly Ghost, Superbacon with Tomas Barfod, and The Mansisters with Jón Atli Helgason. Among his recurring collaborations is Jacob Bellens, present on several tracks, in a trajectory that links electronic scenes, indie pop, and European DJ culture.
