Haloo Helsinki!
Formed in Helsinki in 2006, Haloo Helsinki! brings together Elli Haloo on lead vocals and bass, Jere Marttila and Leo Hakanen on guitars, and Jukka Soldan on drums. The band operates in a Finnish-language pop-rock register, with straightforward writing, highly distinctive choruses and a sound that blends rock energy, Nordic pop melodies and, at times, broader stadium-rock accents. After a self-titled debut album in 2008 and Enemmän kuin elää in 2009, Haloo Helsinki! takes on a new scale with III in 2011, notably propelled by the track "Maailman toisella puolen". The band continues on this trajectory with Maailma on tehty meitä varten in 2013, Kiitos ei ole kirosana in 2014 and Hulluuden highway in 2017, expanding a broader formula without abandoning its pop-rock anchor. After a hiatus at the end of the 2010s, Haloo Helsinki! returns with several singles and then the album Älä pelkää elämää in 2021. The band's discography later enriches with the EP Texas in 2018 and the album Voiko enkelitkin eksyä in 2025. Present on both major Finnish festival stages and in more established touring formats, Haloo Helsinki! has maintained over the years a cohesive band identity, centered on Elli Haloo's voice and on a collective dynamic between guitars, rhythm section and unifying choruses.
