Robin Packalen

Born in Turku, Finland, Robin Packalen rose to prominence very early in Finnish pop in the early 2010s, initially under the name Robin. Discovered as a teenager with the track 'Frontside Ollie' in 2012, widely shared online, he developed Finnish-language pop aimed at a young audience, blending teen pop, melodic hooks and dance-pop production. This first period took shape across several albums released at a steady pace, including Koodi (2012), Chillaa (2012), Boom Kah (2013), 16 (2014) and Yhdessä (2015), during which his style evolved toward more mature writing with touches of hip-hop and urban pop. Before his discographic debut, Robin Packalen had already participated in singing competitions in Finland and internationally, a path that highlights the precocity of his stage arrival. After an announced pause in 2017, he returned in 2019 under his full name, Robin Packalen, with a more international orientation and a pronounced shift toward English. This new phase is notably reflected in the EP Rest In Beat PM (2020), followed by a circulation between English-language tracks and periodic returns to Finnish. In 2023, Robin Packalen participated in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu with 'Girls Like You' and returned to Finnish music television in Vain elämää, before releasing the album Punasel in 2024.
