Joe Goddard

London-based producer and musician Joe Goddard has, since the late 1990s, developed an approach to electronic pop that bridges songwriting and club culture. A founding member of Hot Chip, he shapes a sound that blends synth-pop, house and R&B influences, while his side projects allow him to explore other strands of electronic music. With the duo The 2 Bears, Joe Goddard moved towards a more direct, soundsystem-influenced form of house, whereas the collective and label Greco-Roman provided a platform to support other producers and singers from the independent scene. His solo career was established with the album "Harvest Festival" in 2009, continued with "Electric Lines" in 2017 and "Harvest Time" in 2023, where he combines slow house, disco, electronic pop and soulful touches around prominently featured vocals. Active as a DJ on club and festival stages, Joe Goddard alternates remixes, vocal and production collaborations and studio work with Hot Chip, building a career marked by constant movement between dancefloor formats and pop songwriting.
