Todd Terje

Born in Mjøndalen, Norway, Terje Olsen, who records as Todd Terje, has developed an approach to electronic music that blends disco, house, boogie and space disco, with a marked taste for clear melodic lines, supple rhythms and funk-tinged arrangements. Todd Terje first emerged in the 2000s with edits, remixes and maxi-singles aimed at the club scene, in the wake of the Oslo-linked Norwegian scene, before gradually expanding his writing format. His career is marked by work as a producer and DJ, but also by more developed composition on It's Album Time (2014), an album where Todd Terje incorporates more pop structures, synthetic keyboards and instrumental pieces. His repertoire alternates between dancefloor-oriented tracks and more elaborated pieces, often threaded with a subtle sense of humour and a particular attention to textures. Todd Terje has also collaborated with several pop and electronic artists and performed in clubs and at festivals, sometimes accompanied by his live band The Olsens.
