Jax Jones

Born in London in 1987, Jax Jones is the stage name of Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo. He produces electronic music conceived for the club but arranged in pop formats, sitting between house, deep house, tropical house and touches of eurodance. Coming from a family with Turkish and Chinese–Malaysian roots, Jax Jones worked the open-mic circuit and Brixton studios, where he was initially shaped by the London grime scene before moving closer to house. His trajectory shifted in 2014 with his participation and co-writing on Duke Dumont’s “I Got U,” on which he also appears. He followed with his own singles, including “House Work” (2016), “You Don’t Know Me” with Raye (2016), “Instruction” with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don (2017), and “Breathe” with Ina Wroldsen (2018). His first EP, Snacks, was released in 2018, followed by the album Snacks (Supersize) in 2019. At the same time he formed the duo Europa with Martin Solveig and continued to focus on direct, vocal and rhythm-driven dance music, as heard on Deep Joy (2021), “Out Out” with Joel Corry (2021), “Where Did You Go?” with MNEK (2022) and “Whistle” with Calum Scott (2023).
