Douwe Bob
Born in Amsterdam in 1992, Douwe Bob Posthuma—known professionally as Douwe Bob—is a Dutch singer-songwriter who blends folk, country, pop and Americana influences. He first came to public attention in 2012 when he won the show De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland, launching a career built around songs that foreground voice, guitar and piano, with a marked taste for acoustic timbres and retro arrangements. Douwe Bob released his debut album "Born in a Storm" in 2013, followed by "Pass It On" in 2015, which consolidated his presence on club and festival stages across the Netherlands. In 2016 he represented the Netherlands at Eurovision with the song "Slow Down", taken from the album "Fool Bar" released that year, bringing him greater international exposure. His 2015 collaboration with singer Anouk on the single "Hold Me" was an important moment for his media profile. With "The Shape I’m In" (2018) and "Born to Win, Born to Lose" (2021), Douwe Bob has continued to write songs focused on personal narratives, vintage atmospheres and an aesthetic that balances intimate ballads with rock-tinged registers, while remaining rooted in the contemporary Dutch music scene.
