Hannah Mae
Born Hannah Schoonbeek in Emmen, the Netherlands, Hannah Mae initially developed a singer-songwriter style influenced by country, country-pop, folk and acoustic guitar-centered pop. She began composing in her teens and launched her recording career as Hannah Mae with the single "Back to You" in 2019, followed by "Little Things" in 2020. Signed to Spark Records, the label founded by Ilse DeLange, she later steered her repertoire toward a more direct Dutch-language pop while retaining her taste for clear melodies and spare arrangements. This shift was underlined by "De Kerkstraat" in 2022 and by "Wat wil je van mij", recorded with Belgian singer Metejoor the same year. Hannah Mae regularly works with the producer duo The Companions and alternates solo releases with collaborations, such as "Ik wil dat je liegt" with Maksim in 2024. On stage she played Dutch pop venues during the Little Things Tour in 2021, went on her own club tours and opened for artists like Suzan & Freek, Miss Montreal, Ilse DeLange, Racoon and Acda en De Munnik, while also appearing at festivals such as Concert at Sea. Her debut album, "Rode draad", was released in 2025.
