The Rumour Said Fire

Around singer-songwriter Jesper Lidang, The Rumour Said Fire has developed since 2008 an indie-folk from Copenhagen, marked by tight vocal harmonies and a taste for simple yet carefully crafted melodies. The band truly emerged with the EP The Life and Death of a Male Body in 2009, which established The Rumour Said Fire in an intimate folk vein centered on voice and acoustic guitar. With the 2010 album The Arrogant, the lineup refined a more structured songwriting approach, where folk is tinged with pop and subtle rock touches. Dead Ends, released in 2012, pushed the electric textures and group dynamics further while retaining a narrative approach in the lyrics. In 2017 the album Crush confirmed the band's shift toward a broader register, blending atmospheric indie rock, pop sonorities and slow ballads. Primarily active on Danish and European stages, the band alternates between touring, breaks and returning to the studio, maintaining steady work on vocal arrangements and the tension between acoustic fragility and rock-band energy.
