Dennis Ferrer

Active since the late 1990s in New York’s house scene in the United States, Dennis Ferrer has crafted a musical language that sits between deep house, vocal house, tech-house inflections and rhythmic work informed by soul, gospel, dub and Afro‑Latin influences. As a producer and DJ, he first drew attention with tracks characterised by dense grooves and progressive builds, designed for the club while retaining a melodic sensibility. He launched the label Objektivity, which has accompanied a substantial part of his discography, and released the album The World As I See It in 2006. Over the years Ferrer has also produced career-defining cuts such as “Hey Hey” (2009) and collaborated notably with Jerome Sydenham. Present in American clubs as well as on European stages, his repertoire has evolved between direct formats for the dancefloor and deeper productions, with a constant emphasis on bass, percussion and voices.
