Cariño

Born in the Lavapiés neighborhood in Madrid, Cariño formed in 2017 around a trio that became a duo after María Talaverano left in 2025, with Paola Rivero and Alicia Ros. The band sits in a pop register with indie pop, punk pop, and tontipop influences, with short, direct songs centered on relationships, everyday life, and a deliberately simple writing style. Cariño first emerged with tracks circulated in a DIY fashion, before the 2018 release Movidas on Elefant Records, which includes notably 'Bisexual' and 'Mierda Seca'. The project then continues its journey with Sonido Muchacho, releases the track 'X si me dejas en visto' at the end of the 2010s, then broadens its audience on the Spanish indie scene and in festivals. In 2022, Cariño released the album 'CARIÑO', then 'TANTO POR HACER' in 2024. Their career also includes several occasional collaborations, notably with Mujeres, Natalia Lacunza, Girl Ultra, and Lara91k. On stage, Cariño moves between independent pop circuits and big events, including a performance at Coachella in 2022 after the edition originally planned for 2020 was postponed.
