Elles Bailey

Born in Bristol, England, Elles Bailey has developed a repertoire that sits between blues rock, Americana, roots rock and country soul, carried by a deep, raspy voice that gives her songs an instantly identifiable color. After singing in a local indie band, Bailey moved toward songwriting more firmly rooted in blues and American traditions, first with the EPs Who Am I to Me (2015) and The Elberton Sessions (2016). Her debut album Wildfire was released in 2017 after recording in Nashville, and Road I Call Home (2019) confirmed that direction with road-rock, roots ballads and soul-inflected arrangements. In 2020 she released Ain’t Nothing But, followed by Shining in the Half Light in 2022—produced by Dan Weller and tighter in its writing and textures. She continued with Live at the Fire Station and Beneath the Neon Glow in 2024, the latter also marking her arrival at Cooking Vinyl. On stage, Elles Bailey navigates both blues circuits and festivals and venues associated with Americana, and she has supported artists such as Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Don McLean and Walter Trout. She also works as a radio presenter on Planet Rock.
