Sari Schorr
Born in New York City, Sari Schorr operates in a range between blues, blues rock and classic rock, with songwriting informed as much by vocal jazz as by the early female blues singers. Trained in classical singing in her youth, Sari Schorr quickly chose improvisation and composition, and made her debut on stages in the Bronx and the Lower East Side, notably at CBGB and Arlene’s Grocery. Before her first records, Sari Schorr primarily built her experience onstage, in the United States and in Europe, touring notably with Joe Louis Walker and Popa Chubby. Her encounter with producer Mike Vernon after the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2015 marked a decisive step: he produced A Force of Nature in 2016, recorded with The Engine Room around guitarist Innes Sibun, in a format still firmly rooted in the blues. Never Say Never followed in 2018, with a more direct, blues-rock approach. Sari Schorr then released Live in Europe in 2022 and Joyful Sky in 2023, an album conceived with guitarist Robin Trower. Over the course of this career, Sari Schorr has developed a frontal style, anchored in tension-driven rock songs, soulful nuances and a strong blues foundation.
