Samantha Fish

Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Samantha Fish is part of the contemporary blues scene, blending blues rock, roots rock, soul and Americana. She honed her craft in the clubs of her hometown and first came to wider attention in the early 2010s with the Girls With Guitars project before launching her solo career with the album Runaway in 2011, followed by Black Wind Howlin' (2013) and Wild Heart (2015), which introduced a more rock- and Southern-tinged sound. With Chills & Fever and Belle of the West in 2017 she explored both a 1960s-inspired rhythm and blues vein and a more acoustic, folk-blues-oriented side. Kill or Be Kind (2019) and Faster (2021) continued this hybridization of electric blues, pop rock and touches of modern soul. In 2023 she released the collaborative album Death Wish Blues with Texan guitarist Jesse Dayton, rooted in energetic blues rock, while maintaining a steady presence on club and festival stages across North America and Europe.
