Ana Popovic

Born in Belgrade, in the former Yugoslavia, Ana Popovic first developed within the Serbian blues and rock scene of the 1990s before continuing her career in the Netherlands and later in the United States. A guitarist, singer and songwriter, Ana Popovic’s music sits at the intersection of electric blues, funk, soul and rock, marked by highly articulated guitar work, fluid rhythms and songwriting that prioritizes groove as much as song structure. After forming her first band in Belgrade, she launched her solo recording career with Hush! in 2001, followed by Comfort to the Soul (2003), Can You Stand the Heat (2013), Trilogy (2016), Like It on Top (2018) and Power (2023). Having settled in Los Angeles after several years in the Netherlands, she has performed since the early 2000s on club, theatre and festival circuits across Europe and North America. Her career has also led her to share the stage with many blues and rock musicians, while retaining a band format centered on guitar, vocals and a mobile rhythm section, where American influences meet her European trajectory.
