Airbourne

Airbourne is an Australian hard-rock band formed by singer and guitarist Joel O’Keeffe. Joel began listening to genre greats like AC/DC at a very young age and learned to play guitar at 11. He introduced his brother Ryan to hard rock by playing him his record collection. The two brothers—one on drums, the other on guitar—started writing songs and rehearsing on weekends. They met guitarist David Roads and released their first album, "Ready to Rock", selling roughly 6,000 copies. Joined by bassist Justin Street, Airbourne moved to Melbourne and played small pub gigs. Gradually the band grew beyond small venues and moved onto larger stages, including Arène Road, where they opened for the Rolling Stones. The Airbourne machine was underway. In 2007, after heading to the United States, the band signed with Roadrunner Records (a Warner Music Group label) and promptly released the album "Running Wild". After that release, Airbourne embarked on a world tour and returned in 2009 to record their third album in an old hotel. In May 2013 the band returned with the album "Black Dog Barking", which once again took them back on the road and into festivals for an extended series of shows.
