The Lazys
Formed in Sydney in 2006, The Lazys develop straightforward hard rock, rooted in Australian rock, classic riffs and a stage energy close to pub rock. The band, organized as a five-piece, first gained attention with several EPs before releasing Prison Earth in 2010 and the self-titled album The Lazys in 2014. Later based in Toronto, The Lazys expanded their reach across Canada and into Europe, where they appeared on numerous rock stages and festivals. Their third album, Tropical Hazards, was released in 2018; the writing notably involved Ian D’Sa of Billy Talent, who also participated in the production alongside Eric Ratz. During this period The Lazys toured and performed support slots while consolidating a sound centered on punchy guitars, restrained choruses and melodic hard rock without unnecessary effects. In Europe The Lazys played, among others, the Crossroads Festival in Bonn in 2019 as part of Rockpalast, and events such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze and Rock am Ring.
