Royal Republic

Formed in Malmö in 2007, Royal Republic comprises Adam Grahn (vocals, guitar), Hannes Irengård (guitar), Jonas Almén (bass) and Per Andreasson (drums). The Swedish quartet plays a direct, edgy rock at the crossroads of alternative rock, garage rock, hard rock, punk rock and dance-punk, featuring short songs, punchy choruses and a strong sense of rhythm. After initial sessions begun in 2008, Royal Republic completed their first album We Are the Royal, released in 2010, and followed it with Save the Nation in 2012 and Royal Republic and the Nosebreakers in 2014. Over the years the band steered its writing toward a more openly danceable and melodic formula on Weekend Man (2016) and Club Majesty (2019), without abandoning its rock foundation. Lovecop, released in 2024, continues this trend, blending taut guitars, a pronounced pulse and a tongue-in-cheek attitude. Present on European rock stages since their beginnings, Royal Republic belongs to a Scandinavian line that values efficiency, collective energy and a tight concert format.
