Black Stone Cherry
Black Stone Cherry is a band from Kentucky, formed in 2001, that has become a staple of American hard rock thanks to an explosive mix of southern-tinged riffs, blues energy and an immediate sense of melody. Led by Chris Robertson and Ben Wells, they broke through with their self-titled debut in 2006, propelled by the tracks "Rain Wizard" and "Lonely Train", which established a big, warm sound. Their rise continued with Folklore and Superstition in 2008 and albums such as Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea and Magic Mountain, where their songwriting gained power and scope. Black Stone Cherry developed a distinctive identity defined by gritty guitars, anthemic choruses and a strong southern rock influence, while allowing for heavier or more rootsy detours depending on the record. With The Human Condition and more recent releases like Screamin’ at the Sky, they have maintained a rare longevity in their scene, supported by intense worldwide touring and a loyal fanbase. Generous on stage, they now embody a modern hard rock rooted in American tradition but oriented toward a contemporary, accessible sound.
