A.A. Williams

Based in London, British musician A.A. Williams has been developing since the late 2010s a musical world that sits between dark folk, post-rock and doom and neoclassical influences. Trained in classical music before turning to songwriting, she drew attention with a self-titled debut EP in 2019, where her deep voice and electric guitar mingle with strings and slow tempos. That same year, a collaboration with the Japanese group Mono resulted in the joint EP "Exit in Darkness" (2019), linking her more closely to the post-rock and post-metal scenes. Her first full-length album, "Forever Blue" (2020), deepened a melancholic aesthetic built on rising tension, heavy guitar textures and piano and string arrangements. With the covers project "Songs From Isolation" (2021), conceived from stripped-down versions recorded at home, A.A. Williams highlighted the more intimate side of her writing. The album "As The Moon Rests" (2022) continued this work of balancing slow songs, weighty atmospheres and more orchestrated passages. On stage, A.A. Williams performs in a rock-band formation, frequently sharing bills or touring alongside acts from the post-rock and post-metal sphere, asserting a distinctive position at the intersection of singer-songwriter craft and heavy atmospheric music.
